Take I-85 North Exit 115 (Buford Drive towards Buford).Turn right onto the Mall of Georgia Blvd and the parking is just past Bird Watchers Supply Store located at 1999B Mall of Georgia Blvd. in Buford. From the traffic light turn left away from the store about 150 feet and park. The entrance steps are on up the Blvd about another 60 feet on the right. Trail maps and info at the bottom of the steps. |

Centennial Olympic Park: Downtown's Avian Oasis Downtown Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park is considered to be the best spot to look for bird species from warblers to wrens to hawks. For anyone who's interested in going to COP, the best birding area is in the maples and water features near the Billy Payne statue and the fan sculpture. . |

Take I-20 East beyond I-285 to Exit 98 (GA Hwy 11, Monroe-Monticello). Turn right onto Hwy 11. Follow the brown govermental "Charlie Elliot Wildlife Center"signs. Stay on Hwy 11 south, crossing Hwy 278 and 142. Go through Mansfield (Very good breakfast shop on left past railroad tracks), and continue for 3 miles. Turn left on Marben Farm Road. Chattahoochee National Recreation Area - Cochran Shoals Unit Take I-285 to the Northside-Powers Ferry Rd. exit (exit 22). If heading West on I-285 turn right at the first light onto Interstate North Parkway; after crossing the river turn right into the parking lot. Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve From I-285 N or S: Take highway 78, Stone Mtn. Freeway exit west toward Decatur -Hwy 78 passes North Dekalb Mall and continues up hill past Lou Sobh Ford- At intersection of Hwy 78, North Decatur Road, and Medlock Road, take right on Medlock Road-Follow Medlock Road .25 mile to Medlock Elementary School; go right on Wood Trail Lane-Go through 1 stop sign; travel another 200 yards to Preserve entrance.From I-75 - I-85 N or S: Take North Druid Hills exit east toward Decatur approx 3 miles, go right on Hwy 78(at North Dekalb Mall)-Follow directions as above. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Fernbank Science Center From I-285 take the Stone Mountain Freeway(US 78) towards Decatur; it becomes Scott Blvd.; turnright at Coventry Rd. then left at first light (Heaton Park Dr). Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Take I-75 north 8.4 miles past I-285 to exit 267B and turn right. Follow the signs for US 41 for about 1-mile: turn right onto US 41 at stoplight: drive 0.6 miles north to the second traffic light; turn left on Bells's Ferry Rd.; take first right onto Old US 41; drive 1.1 miles and turn left onto Stilesboro Rd. and then an immediate left into the parking lot. Tribble Mill Park Tribble Mill is located on New Hope Road just 5.4-miles from the Pike Street post office. From the post office turn right onto Jackson. Jackson changes its name to New Hope at Scenic Hwy (Hwy 124). Follow New Hope 4.9-miles to Tribble Mill Parkway and turn right. You can also get to New Hope Road by turning onto Simonton Road at Tim Stewart's Funeral Home. Follow Simonton 1.2-miles to New Hope and turn right and go 3.3-miles to the park. |
