Mill Creek Nature Center

MCNC - Kiosk at base of stairs

In May 2003, this 88-acre tract was donated to "Georgia Wildlife Federation" by the Mall of Georgia Partners. It is a beautiful and peaceful series of trails and boardwalks. Walk the trails and cross over "Ivy Creek" via 2 bridges. Go to the top of the observation tower and get a nice view of the wetland area. "Little Ivy Creek" also runs through the property and has several wood duck boxes placed on the far bank. There is a lot to see at MCNC. Many species of birds, animals, flowers, plants and many species of trees. So whether you are a hiker, birder, photographer or just plain like nature, you'll love MCNC.

Early Morning Walks
One of my favorite times at MCNC is early in the morning, while a soft mist is rising off the wetlands and the forest floor. There is a gentle breeze and the sun is just peeking over the horizon. It is a transition period where the nightime critters are moving towards their homes and the daytime wildlife is just begining to wake up.
